On Capturing Moments….
Photographer Brian Hare documents the small-town Newberry he loves.
On a recent trip to the beach, I found myself strolling along the ocean’s edge one hazy morning, gazing across the wet sand for some treasure, some found object, some memento of sorts from this particular stay. I always do this - come home with at least one plastic Harris Teeter bag filled with sand, shells, sticks and other gems that end up in a variety of places here and there around the house.
I also come home with photos on my phone, images of sunsets and sunrises and the moon over the ocean, images that haven’t changed altogether too entirely from year to year but yet I’m compelled to take these photos all the same, every time, not because I am a photographer – I’m not. My images are snapshots, unstructured glimpses, moments in time captured simply because they are just that – moments in time.
